I know its been a little quiet on the #MadisonSMC front as we started the year. But there are lots going on behind the curtains. In 2012, we are on the way to being full chapter of SocialMediaClub.org. In addition, I applied for and won some UW Students looking for a project. Professor Rick Marolt is the UW Instructor for MHR 401: The Management of Teams. He reached out looking for organizations who could help give these students valuable real world experience. All I can say is that I am glad they chose SMC Madison! In fact, four of them drove all the way to Lodi to meet with me to get this all started. Now that is real dedication.
The Students Introduce Themselves
Hello, SMC-Madison members! This is a post from Adam, Colleen, Kevin, Sasha, and Xi. We are UW-Madison students that are teaming up with you to help SMC-Madison to expand and flourish.
Our main objective is to help SMC-Madison obtain chapter status through facilitating your upcoming executive board election (and of course, we will be there to help you celebrate afterwards). Here is a little bio to get to know each one of us:
My name is Adam Moscherosch and I’m from Merrill, WI. During high school I played both varsity Football and Baseball as well as participated in various other clubs. At UW-Madison I am double majoring in Marketing and Management & Human Resources with plans to graduate in May 2012. On campus I have been involved in the Sports Business Club as well as being active in the Delta Upsilon Fraternity. I have also worked as a marketing intern for the Wisconsin Wolfpack while also working full-time in construction during the summer. This semester I am really looking forward to helping the Social Media Club obtain its charter and expand awareness through social media, particularly Facebook. After graduation I would like to start a career in sales or account management. I can be contacted by email at amoscherosch (at) wisc.edu or through LinkedIn
I’m Colleen Reddy from Delavan, WI. I am double majoring in Marketing and Management, graduating in May 2012. I am the Marketing Director for the Press Office of ASM (the student government on campus) where I create marketing material for various events and announcements. I am also a Creative Services intern for an insurance company, but hope to eventually expand into advertising. Outside of school, I enjoy swimming, running, reading, quilting, and crafts. I have competed in a few triathlon and am now training for my second half marathon. I am eager to expand my social media network! Please find me on Twitter: @ColleenReddy, LinkedIn, follow my blog, or email me at colleenreddy (at) gmail.com.
My name is Kevin Anderson and I’m from Plymouth, Minnesota. I attended Armstrong High School where I played both varsity hockey and lacrosse. I spent my first two undergraduate years at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. After my sophomore year, I transferred to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and plan to graduate in the spring of 2013. I am double majoring in Real Estate and Urban Land Economics & Entrepreneurship. My activities include playing for the Men’s MCLA Lacrosse Team for the Badgers, intramural hockey, and a member of the Wisconsin Real Estate Club. After college, I would like to work in the field of commercial real estate, developing and acquiring properties in large cities all over the world. The best way to connect with me is through email at email@example.com, or through Facebook and LinkedIn.
My name is Sasha Nowak and I’m from De Pere, WI. Currently, I am in my senior year at UW-Madison, pursuing a double major in Management and Information Systems. In my freshman year at UW, I was a founding member of the Entrepreneurial Residential Learning Community and this is where I discovered my passion for business. As an undergraduate, I’ve also been very active in my social sorority, Pi Beta Phi, as well as the Association of Information Systems Professionals. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, training for the Madison Marathon in May, cooking and traveling. Last summer, I spent two months in Ecuador as an English Teacher and I can’t wait until I have the resources to experience life in more parts of the world. Upon graduation in May of 2012, I will be entering the ‘real world’ as a Systems Integration Analyst with Accenture in Milwaukee, WI. Feel free to connect with me via my LinkedIn and Twitter accounts, Word Press travel blog, or email Srnowak (at) wisc.edu.
